Australia’s best performing Couch grass
Couch is Australia’s best performing Couch grass. The perfect choice for work, rest and play, it produces a manicured lawn with an attractive luscious green colour and fine leaf blades.
A great grass for full sun areas
Couch Grass is classed as a warm season grass, like most grasses grown in Australia. It has been researched, evaluated and trialled for the past 30 years to deliver long-lasting performance in full sun areas. This variety requires at least 5-6 hours of sunlight per day so is ideal for full sun areas, whereas if you are looking for a more shade tolerant variety, you may be better considering AUGUSTA (Zeon Zoysia) or Sir Walter Buffalo Grass.
Hard wearing with high traffic tolerance
One of the best features of Couch is its ability to tolerate high foot traffic from people and animals, hence its popularity across both residential and sports landscaping projects such as football and cricket grounds.
During winter, Couch has low dormancy – this is when the grass is in a dormant state and the plant focuses resources on the roots. Consequently, it has an early start to growth after winter and also has rapid recovery from wear and other stresses.
It is best to apply a slow release fertiliser 2-3 times per year to maintain a dense vigorous turf sward. Nullarbor Couch has good tolerance to broadleaf herbicides for weed control.
Ideal for home lawns, sports or commercial projects
Producing a very dense turf, Couch Grass is widely used for sports and commercial landscaping projects as well as home gardens, as it is excellent for hard wearing areas yet soft to walk on and environmentally friendly.
